37902 Ex works or should i say still in Crewe works is Railfreight liveried class 37/9 locomotive 37902 (37148, D6848) before it was named "British Steel Llanwern", This was one of the test bed locomotives which carried the Mirrlees Blackstone MB275 power unit which eventually went into the class 60's., New as D6848 to Cardiff withdrawn 12/98 from Cardiff  cut up 04/05 by Sims Metals Beeston, , 19th October 1986

40160 Nearing the the end having being brought into the cutting shop at Crewe Works, are class 40 locomotives 40160 (D360) and split headcode 40143 (D343) behind., New to Haymarket as D360 on 20/9/61 withdrawn from Longsight 26/11/84 cut up 10/84 at Crewe Works, , 19th October 1986

Buxton Shed Cravens Class 105 DMU E56142 now converted to a Sandite Unit and recieved the departmental number of ADB977048 and based at Buxton, but still seems to have retained its first class compartment!, Also on shed is Railfreight liveried class 47/3 locomotive 47378 (D1875), , 19th October 1986

Johannesburg 60 Johannesburg Car No 60. Built by ERTCW Preston in 1905., This tram has bi-lingual signs in both Afrikaans and English, and was one of many built in the UK for export to all corners of the British Empire., Seen at the Tramway Museum Society at Crich., , 4th October 1986

Pantograph Tramcar Preserved Blackpool Transport "Pantograph Tramcar" 167 is, seen at the Tramway Museum Society at Crich., These were originally called Pullman Cars when new, due to their plush interiors being similar to the American railroad coaches back in the day when this tram was built in 1928, by the Dick Kerr works at Preston later becoming English Electric. , 167 was withdrawn in 1953 and became a works car, this meant it survived the scrapping of most of the rest of the class, and it was preserved in 1962., , 4th October 1986

1502 Seen at Butterley on the Midland Railway, is recently repatriated  and now preserved class 1500 Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) 1502, ex BR EM2 27000 "Electra", a 1954 built express Woodhead locomotive, the entire class of 7 was exported to Holland in 1969, they lasted untill June 1986., Taken only 5 months after i had travelled round Holland behind 1502 on the EM2 Locomotive Society's railtour "The EM2 Farewell Railtour", , 4th October 1986,

On Shed At the end of 1986 just 26 class 25 locomotives remained in service including these two, 25201 (D7551) withdrawn 28/01/87 and 25278 (D7628) which made it to the last day, the 27/03/87, and into preservation, incidentally she was the last of her class to receive a classified repair at Derby Locomotive Works, seen  inside Crewe Diesel Depot., , 19th October 1986

Withdrawn Parked up by the buffer stops at Crewe Gresty Lane, it's the end of the line for 25042 (D5192) which was in full working order when switched off on the 8th May 1986, along side 25285 (D7635) which was withdrawn on the 17th March 1986., They moved by rail to Vic Berry's Leicester scrapyard in July 1987., , 19th October 1986

9A85 Seen at Buxton in what is now in its second role, but originally built as 4 car units is this 1959 Derby Suburban now a Longsight allocated class 127 dmu set 915, 55985 (51617) + 55984 (51639), From new these units were almost exclusively used on the London St Pancras-Bedford services as 4-car units before being displaced in June 1983, in 1985 22 redundant power cars which had been stored at Carlisle were rebuilt to form 11 two car parcels units, car A was for Express Parcels and car B was for Newpapers, they lasted in service untill 1989., , 3rd October 1986

1109 These Nederlandse Spoorwegen 60 strong 1100 class locomotives date from 1950 and were based upon the SNCF Class BB 8100 design. They were extensively rebuilt between 1978 and 1982., They operated on both freight and passenger turns, and were the NS main locomotive until the arrival of Class 1600's., Unfortunately they were very unpopular to a point of being downright hated by the drivers for a number of reasons, and they were paid a special bonus for driving them., Here is 1109 seen at Rotterdam Centraal, the last of the class was withdrawn in 1999, although many were out of service before then., , , 26th October 1986,
