L140 An ex London Transport 1938 stock driving car from the Northern Line, as the 1972 stock was introduced on the Northern Line 2 driving cars of 1938 stock were converted to ballast motor cars at Acton Works in 1972, numbered L140 & L141 and finished off in unlined lake., This is the remains of L140 at Vic Berrys scrapyard which was located in the old goods yard at Braunston Gate, Leicester, which was built by the Great Central Railway in the 1890's, , 4th February 1989,

501135 Built by British Railways at their  Eastleigh workshops in 1955, these 3 car class 501 sets in which 57 sets were built were allocated to Croxley Green depot, for services from Broad Street around the North London line to Richmond and of course the DC lines from London Euston to Watford, the last were withdrawn from service in May 1985., Sitting amongst the rubble is DTBS 75135 from set 501135, seen at Vic Berrys scrapyard which was located in the old goods yard at Braunston Gate, Leicester, which was built by the Great Central Railway in the 1890's, , 4th February 1989,

M55000 A 1958 class 122 Gloucester built single car dmu, the first of a batch of 20 built, seen inside Vic Berrys scrapyard which was located in the old goods yard at Braunston Gate, Leicester, which was built by the Great Central Railway in the 1890's., This unit would come out again to run again in service for a good number of years, as it was here for asbestos removal, this unit would later on in its life become the Loadhaul route learner before entering preservation, , 20th December 1987

Two Cabs The remains of two Derby built class 25 locomotives 25126  (D5276) and 25201 (D7551) lie amongst the rubble in the Leicester scrapyard of Vic Berry., 25126 was new to Nottingham as D5276 on 5/6/64 withdrawn from Crewe 11/82, On the 22/6/84 she was towed along with 25134, 25158 and 25208 to Swindon works for scrapping, but the works closed before 25126 was scrapped., 25201 was also new to Nottingham as D7551 on 19/6/65 withdrawn 28/1/87 from Crewe , , 20th December 1987

Cabs Galore Cabs Galore seen here in the Leicester scrapyard of Vic Berry, which was located in the old goods yard at Braunston Gate, Leicester, which was built by the Great Central Railway in the 1890's, surrounded by a host of other traction., The reason i posted this Photograph is  that you  can quite clearly identify the cab of a class 26, of which only four were cut by Vic Berry, two at Thornton Yard in Scotland with only the cabs arriving in the yard, but only two complete locomotives ended up in Leicester., , , 20th December 1987

25151 On September 3rd 1982 class 25/2 locomotive 25151 (D7501) was working the loaded 8E08 Oakleigh-Barnby Dun soda ash train which was being delivered from the ICI plant to Rockware Glass. , Somewhere between Slaithwaite and Huddesfield control of the train was lost, the signalman at Hillhouse took action and diverted the train into Hillhouse Yard (Huddersfield), the damage was caused when the locomotive struck a ferry van, the crew having jumped to safety prior to the impact., 25151 was moved to Healey Mills on 6th September 1982 and withdrawn three days later.,  It remained at Healey Mills until January 1983 when it was moved here to Toton. Here it used for rerailing exercises until at least June 1987. It would eventually be broken up at Toton by Vic Berry staff between 15th Dec 1987 and 20th Jan 1988., , 13th July 1985
