40122 (D200) at Toton Depot On the day it was released from Toton depot after its restoration to original condition in August 1983, 40122/D200 was displayed with a small yellow panel at one end and plain green at the other. I was on a Saturday morning permit visit and had no idea the loco was there. I only had a very poor camera at the time and the resultant negatives are very grainy - hence the montage. 58040 at Toton yard After the hump at Toton had been taken out of use, the reception sidings were used for several years for staging mgr trains from the various pits in the Nottingham coalfield. It was quite easy to photograph the trains from the bank opposite the depot. 58040 runs back onto its train past the white posts that once held the signals controlling shunting over the hump.
