37402 37402 ‘Bont Y Bermo’ in the carriage sidings at Holyhead on Friday 10th November 1994, after arrival with 1D68 09:46 Birmingham International – Holyhead. The was its first outing after receiving an intermediate overall at Doncaster works, and would later to return to Crewe on 1K73 15:55 Holyhead – Crewe. The Laira based HST set on platform No.1 awaits departure with a service to London Euston (13:52?), with the Stena Cambria visible in the inner harbour with an afternoon sailing to Dun Laoghire.

37414 & 37408 37414 'Cathays C&W Works 1846-1993' & 37408 'Loch Rannoch' at Chester North Jct, Sunday 20th June 1993 with 1N95 07:53 Crewe - Blackpool North, via Altrincham, Manchester Piccadilly and Bolton. , , Due to Sunday engineering work, this train was booked to run via Chester North and South Junctions, propelling between the two points, with a system of flashing lights line side to indicate to the driver that the route was set throughout., , Regulations have since been tightened and now decrees that the leading vehicle of the propelling movement must be a brake van or locomotive., , Tracks to the left of the train leading to Chester diesel depot, since remodeled as the Alstom depot, and in the distance behind the last coach is Chester Wagon repair depot.

40195 Taken sometime in July 1984 at Allerton TMD, 40195 sits withdrawn in the dead end sidings (now the site of the depot wheel lathe) for the minor offence of worn tyres. It would later be hauled to Crewe works, where it would languish until December 1988, before finally being scraped.

40183 40183 at Crewe Works, one Sunday in 1985, awaiting access to the melt shop for it's demise. One the other side of Edge Bridge in the Crewe Electric depot yard can bee seen a Class 104 DMU (Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Company) trailer car, sealed up, suggesting asbestos contamination., , Of the other two 40s in the image, the hand painted works date on one of 19/02/79 would lend me to think it is 40088?
