The Graveyard
Sad scene at Vic Berry's scrapyard, in Leicester. Image is a scan of a photo taken on 20/1/1990. Class 50, 50025 which was involved in a serious derailment was withdrawn from service and despatched to the scrapyard for dismantling. In the background is one of the many stacks of railway vehicles. The scrapyard was famous for the ‘stacks’ especially those that were made up of locomotives. Sadly on my visit they had disappeared, but quite an artistic statement the coaching stock makes.
