Class 118 at Wilmcote
A Class 118 dmu set passes Wilmcote on 8 June 1986. I was waiting for "Jubilee" 4-6-0 no 5593, and I think most of the others on the platform were waiting to see the same train. I didn't record the unit number at the time, but it appears that this is Tyseley set T632, and Railcar.co.uk tells me this was formed 51308/59475/51323. All 3 cars were new in May 1960 and were allocated from new to Laira. These three vehicles stayed together for almost their entire BR career. 51308 + 51323 were withdrawn from service in March 1988 and were scrapped by Vic Berry in Leicester, but the trailer, 59475, was withdrawn from Heaton in December 1988 and was scrapped by Mayer Newman in Snailwell.
