An unidentified Class 47 trundles passed Wem Signal Box leading a lightly loaded southbound freight of steel coil on Saturday October 4th 1986., Built around 1882 to a LNWR design, Wem box was closed in October 2013, along with the others on the line between Shrewsbury & Crewe, after control of the route passed over to Cardiff SCC. It was demolished over the weekend of August 8th & 9th 2015.
