English Electric Type 4 40 015 'Aquitania' & BR Sulzer Type 2 25 285, sit forlornly awaiting their fate in sidings at Gresty Lane, Crewe, on Tuesday 12th August 1986., Built by English Electric at their Vulcan Foundry, Newton-le-Willows, 40 015 entered traffic as D215 in June 1959, was withdrawn in November 1984 & was cut up at BREL Swindon in November 1986., 25 285 was built in Manchester by Beyer Peacock Ltd, entering service as D7635 in November 1965, was withdrawn in March 1986 & was scrapped in October 1987 by Vic Berry's, Leicester.
