1J20, the 0730 London Euston - Pwllheli, led by 37 426 'Y Llein Fach/Vale of Rheidol' & 37 504, crosses the river Dulas at Garth shortly before calling at Machynlleth on Saturday June 28th 1986., Both locomotives were built by English Electric at their Vulcan Foundry in Newton-le-Willows., 37 426 entered service in August 1965 as D6999, was renumbered 37 299 in February 1974 under TOPS & became 37 426 in February 1986 after overhaul at Crewe BREL. After surviving for 9 years in storage, it was scrapped in March 2013 by CF Booths of Rotherham., 37 504 entered service as D6739 in May 1962. It became 37 039 in February 1974 under TOPS & was renumbered 37 504 in March 1986 following an overhaul. In May 1996 it was renumbered 37 603 & has seen use on the Cumbrian Coast passenger services as recently as 2015 & worked a Chester - Scarborough railtour on September 3rd 2016. It was placed in store by DRS on April 5th 2017.
