37 427 'Bont Y Bermo' passes alongside the river Dyfi at Garth, on the approach to it's next stop at Machynlleth, with 1J24, the 0940 London Euston - Aberystwyth on Saturday 8th August 1987. The English Electric Type 3 was on it's second trip of the day, having had already worked the 0800 from Pwllheli to Shrewsbury earlier that morning., Built by English Electric at their Vulcan Foundry in Newton-le-Willows, it entered service as D6988 on 14th June 1965, becoming 37 288 under TOPS in, March 1974. In September 1985 it entered Crewe Works for conversion to a ETH 37/4, emerging as 37 427 in February 1986. On 13th April 1986 it was named 'Bont Y Bermo' after arriving at Barmouth, along with 37 426, with a special charter to officially reopen Barmouth Bridge to loco hauled services. In March 1993 it was transferred to Inverness and in the May of that year it was renamed 'Highland Enterprise'. It was placed into storage in 2007 and was eventually scrapped at CF Booths, Rotherham in February 2013.,
