25261 Birmingham New Street July 31st 1976
25261 was a relatively early withdrawal (1981) but this didn't stop it from acquiring a few detail nuances whilst in service., , It was built with tablet catcher recesses, which like several others, it retained until withdrawn. , , Its last Classified repair took place at Crewe Works during January - April 1975, Crewe appears to have turned it out with white cab front handrails and it retained the raised 'L' shaped engine room roof towards the No.2 end. , , It had been received at Crewe Works in two-tone green livery, being one of a small group of Class 25s to carry TOPS numbering with green livery. , , It also got caught up in a cutting-up dispute at Derby Locomotive Works in May 1983 spending 30 months partially cut up until Vic Berry came in and finished off the job during November 1985.
