Having already been withdrawn twice already in January 84 and March 87, this class 25 locomotive 25322 'Tamworth Castle' (25912, D7672) outlived the official class 25 withdrawal date of March 23rd 1987 on British Rail by 4 years, it's last duty being "The Rat Requiem" railtour from Holyhead to Leeds on the 30th March 1991, and in doing so brought to an end the reign of the class on British Rail., In total 327 locomotives were built between 1961 and 1967, at BR workshops at Derby, Darlington and at Beyer Peacock in Gorton., , 27th January 2016
