At the end of 1986 just 26 class 25 locomotives remained in service including these two, 25201 (D7551) withdrawn 28/01/87 and 25278 (D7628) which made it to the last day, the 27/03/87, and into preservation, incidentally she was the last of her class to receive a classified repair at Derby Locomotive Works, seen inside Crewe Diesel Depot., , 19th October 1986
