40183 at Crewe Works, one Sunday in 1985, awaiting access to the melt shop for it's demise. One the other side of Edge Bridge in the Crewe Electric depot yard can bee seen a Class 104 DMU (Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Company) trailer car, sealed up, suggesting asbestos contamination., , Of the other two 40s in the image, the hand painted works date on one of 19/02/79 would lend me to think it is 40088?
