The elusive 45110
A locomotive that I found elusive was 45110, the erstwhile D11, the first production Peak. A phone call on 12th May 1986 alerted me that it was working 1E94, the 08:05 Liverpool to Newcastle service. A quick dash to Bensham, Gateshead, secured a shot of it towards the end of it's journey. The 45/1 had recently been released from Derby works following a light overhaul, although it was already becoming slightly work-stained.
